Well, the camera has a green LED on it that is on when the camera
is capturing. When I load the gspca module this LED becomes on
and remains that way as if the camera would be capturing all the
time although there is no v4l application running. When I run
an application that turns it off on exit then it gets turned
off then.

Hmmm... maybe it has something to do with lighting (eg. maybe a
better lit scene allows a shorter exposure time and, above a certain
level, a higher frame rate is automatically selected).

> You're a lucky guy: I did not succeed in having camorama working!

Well, here is camorama-0.19 and it does work generally :-)

I can only see this module parameter:

parm: debug:Debug level: 0=none, 1=init/detection, 2=warning,
                3=config/control, 4=function call, 5=max (int)

This means that this debug mask is not exposed as a module parameter?

> Done. BTW, I'd be glad to know if skype runs.

Both Skype and Ekiga runs perfectly, apart from the garbage stripe
I've told about. Skype has it because apparently it is capturing
at 320x240. Ekiga does not have the garbage stripe so it probably
captures at some other resolution (or does some magic).

BTW it's internal microphone also works perfectly using the
snd_usb_audio driver.

Thanks,

Sab
