[Spca50x-devs] Bug and partial solution for Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks

I have got a Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks (USBID: 046d:08ae). I am using spca5xx-20060501-r2 on a gentoo 2.6.18-r4 kernel.

The webcam was detected by the driver, but using the wrong sensor. I only got a uniformly black image from /dev/video0.

In the logs I could see: "Find Sensor UNKNOW_0 force Tas5130"

For testing, I changed the function

drivers/usb/zc3xx.h : static int zc3xx_config(struct * usb_spca50x)

to do the following by default:

spca50x->sensor = SENSOR_HDCS2020;

Now everything works for me.

Well, I know this is only a dirty workaround, as the sensor is not really detected (sensor == -1). I just do not have the time to learn about the detection methods at the moment. If you need any further information about the camera model, just tell me what you need and how I can figure it out.
