Note that I've redirected the replies to samba@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
not samba-technical as this isn't a technical discussion.
Internally the Team has had discussions on this matter and
we've looked at other CoC texts, but didn't come up with
anything that worked for all of us. We are the ones
who would have to live with it on a day-to-day basis so
I hope you agree it would be best it we all agreed on it :-).
The Linux kernel one came the closest, but had some issues
we also weren't happy with.
If we can come to an agreement on this in the future,
we'll certainly let everyone know, but in the meantime
I'm planning to keep telling people to be polite to
each other on the mailing lists, and ban anyone who
keeps violating these community norms (which we've
only had to do a very few times in the past 25+ years).
That's worked quite well for us so far.
