Hai

An other possible workaround,

You can also try to add the vfs object in the share share its needed.
In you global settings :
allow insecure wide links = yes
   unix extensions = no

in the share, there where needed.

vfs objects = (yourneeded vfs_objects) and wide links = yes

vfs object is normaly set in the share not global.
At least thats was `man smb.conf` is telling me.
The load order of vfs_objects do matter.

no, [G] means you can not override per share, but that don't imply [S] means you can not set a default for all shares and in my setups all shares should behave identical

luckily F25 is currentyl only testing, so no workaround at the moment needed - they make it only harder to verify if it's if it's fixed later

that issue will hopefully fixed soon

anyone a clue what is going on here?

I think you might be hitting a regression, see this bug report:

https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12721

confirmed - that's a big price for teh fix of a unlikely symlink related
race-condition to allow symlinks at all now :-(
