I intended to sent an answer to a message posted in this newsgroup.
But due a distraction, I clicked in the button "reply" instead of the
button "post reply in this group".

I have a bogus email address for the newsgroup account, as others
here. The email address of the replied message exists.

After I sent, a copy was saved in my local folders "account". I have
checked its headers, but found nothing showing a possible try to send
it with any of my SMTP options for the email accounts I have in TB.

The headers of my copy in "Sent" local folder:

X-Mozilla-Status: 0001
X-Mozilla-Status2: 00800000

What happened to the message I sent this way?

I did not have this button "post reply in this group".
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/52.0 SeaMonkey/2.49.1

Did you write this using Firefox? I am using Thunderbird, and its
window have two reply buttons. It is a different kind of program - a
mail manager, not a browser. But both have their user agent IDs.

One reply button is the normal one, and the other is "special", and
changes a bit depending on the kind of message we see. For messages
shown in a newsgroup, it is like I said.

I use SeaMonkey-mail-part ... not Firefox.

Oh, I see! I just did not note the word after Firefox was SeaMonkey (that I remember being written only as "Seamonkey"). I blindly "discarded" it assuming that was just a less important thing, like Gecko. Then most (more?) of what you have is similar to what I have with Thunderbird. But that button... aaaa... does not matter. I said that I have the different button - that I just used the button to reply your newsgroup message, to the newsgroup too, instead of your address (if possible or not, TB will/should try... will it? I still do not know if a try to send the email really existed, to justify the copy in the local sent folder).
