Is there ANY WAY in Thunderbird to filter out all the spam posts from "GerardJan" in this newsgroup?

Yes but if you filter him out, there won't be anything to read here.

He is keeping this newsgroup active.

Yes, 26 posts just today according to my filter log.

I had no idea my filtering worked so well.
Thank you for the confirmation.

Did not know that there was a filter log until I visited this thread.
There are folk that continue to challenge us to filter them and should be looked at as an opportunity to sharpen our filtering skills.

Ok, I give up. Where do I find the filter log? Clicked on Tools, Filters, Filter Log and all I got was a message to check the box (it was) to enable the log. I can't find any log file anywhere.

I see other answers but I accessed mine when in a group by going to tools>message filters>filter log.  It only turns that groups filter log. I see here, the pest in question, posted half dozen times since I turned the filter log on this am.

Just FYI, if you want a filter to apply to all the groups you read on a server (e.g., on my UseNet server, I have about twenty groups I read), at the top-left of the Message Filter Pane, select the server you want the filter to apply to, then at the top of the list of groups you have selected on that server, you should again select the server name.
