BTW, the form "soixante-dix-neuf" is actually the the Roman numeral system: LX-X-IX.

But, Wolf, if you're going to bring up Roman numerals, wouldn't 79 in French more logically be cinquante-dix-dix-une-dix??, i.e 50+10+10-1+10. (Assuming une is French for one!! I only did French and Latin for one year at school!!))
