Please try installing the latest MSYS development version (1.0.11) and
see if the crash still occurs. You can obtain it by downloading:

Unpack it in an empty directory and run msys.bat.

You shouldn't need those to build gnucash. It is a MSYS version of
Guile, meant only to support the tools in the MSYS DTK. What you want
is the MinGW version of Guile, compiled with MinGW tools.

Please try using MinGW to build Guile from source. The latest Guile
versions from the 1.8 series seem to build fine with MinGW.
