Application style is controlled by the active Qt platform theme plugin;
on plasma, the "kde" plugin is used, and outside plasma there's usually
none by default. You can use e.g. qt5ct; install it, export
QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct, and then with the "qt5ct" tool you can
configure the style.
