Perhaps, as part of this deprecation, the example in
Documentation/git-filter-branch.txt should be updated to suggest
git-replace instead of .git/info/grafts.

Maybe, also, Documentation/shallow.txt should talk about replace-refs
rather than .git/info/grafts.
