In the past I've had the odd USB port die on me but then
come back to life. I don't remember whether rebooting was
enough; it might have taken an overnight rest.
I'm trying to recall what hardware I would have been plugging
into it at that time; probably cheap and nasty MP3 players:
a noname gift from MBNA credit cards, an Aigo from Maplin,
an ALi from Tesco. Real Intel mobo in the PC though.
